How to Eat Your Coffee

Tired of drinking coffee? Then eat it! Coffee Jelly and Cream is one good way to enjoy your caffeine fix in a scorching summer day. All you need is a pack of agar powder (gulaman, preferably black), instant coffee, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg (spices are optional) and chilled all-purpose cream (although I used condensed milk in the picture). Cook gulaman according to package direction, add other ingredients except cream, stir thoroughly until solids are dissolved, adjust the sweetness and amount of coffee according to your taste, and pour into a shallow rectangular container. Let it cool and cut jelly into small squares then chill it in the refrigerator.

To serve, put in a glass and garnish with whipped cream. To whip cream, beat the chilled all-purpose cream while slowly adding a small amount of sugar.

Coffee jelly is great with frappé and ice cream too!
